Legal Disclaimer: Beware of thin cheaper aftermarket cables. Generally cables under $8.00 can NOT be made up to current standards due to the current cost of copper increases! These "knock-off" cables will NOT provide full signal strenght from your PC/Projector and rarely support a clear 1080p picture. We suggest purchasing from a seller that distinguishes this difference in their notes field.

5 out of 5 stars Works great   January 3, 2009
I got it to connect to my PS3 to my monitor. The picture is clear. Works perfectly.

The packaging arrived already opened by someone using a pair of cheap scissors. It is obvious Amazon is selling returns as new items. Don't buy this product, don't shop at Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Great product, but be aware of what you're connecting (HDCP)   December 24, 2008

This cable works flawlessly and does what it is designed to do: display the video feed from an HDMI source. Whereas HDMI contains an audio signal as well, DVI is only the video portion of the HDMI feed.

This cable is all you need if you want to play high definition content on a display that only has a DVI port. (minus your audio connection) HOWEVER, BE AWARE:

Your display needs to be HDCP compliant. HDCP is a copy protection technology that has become an industry standard for high definition content providers. If your display doesn't support HDCP (some televisions manufactured prior to the HDCP spec's inclusion in the standard don't) you could possibly just get a blank screen.

I bought this cable so I could play my PS3 and XBOX360 on my 22" Widescreen LCD monitor, and maybe watch some TV from my cable box. My monitor has a DVI input on the back. I was in for a surprise on trying to hook these things up, though. My monitor is not HDCP compliant, so my cable box notified me that I had to use another output. I could see the program guide and cable box settings, but I only got a black picture on EVERY CHANNEL. My PS3 just shows a black screen, because apparently you need HDCP just to play games!

On the other hand, my XBOX 360 works flawlessly for gaming (as of 12/24/2008), but supposedly netflix streaming won't work without an HDCP compliant display.

So all in all, this cable does what it's supposed to do. Keep these things in mind if you buy this and you don't get any picture when you hook your devices up.

I'd also like to say thanks for pricing this item right. There is no difference between this cable and a pricey $100 monster cable of the same length (6') in terms of quality. It's all slick marketing that confuses the consumers.

5 out of 5 stars Cables Unlimited PCM-2296-06 HDMI to DVI-D   December 24, 2008
The Play Station recognized it immediately. Very good quality and the signal to the new LCD screen is superb.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT! Better than the expensive ones!   December 24, 2008
Bought this to connect my Macbook Pro to an HDTV and it works flawlessly! Great value. I would never buy one of those $40+ HDMI cables now.
