The new generation Apple MacBook & MacBook Pro (released 10/15/2008), is not compatible with previous generation MacBook & MacBook Pro covers. The new generation cases are not available as of this date through DSI or through Apple. As soon as we have the new cases available, they will be released for sale. Apple did not pre-announce new generation specs, so no business has been able to release new covers in anticipation of the change.
Can't close my MacBook ProNovember 15, 2008 After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase it. It came and I put it on. The tabs snapped into place and it was done. From far, far, FAR away, it looks great. Close up, however, is a different story.
The cover has the Apple logo cut out so that the logo can be lit and can be seen as pictured. My cover (perhaps this is a defective one) is bent in such a way that there is a good 1/4 inch space between the lid of the laptop and the cover. Looking at the lid horizontally, I can see the cover bending towards the middle of the lid, creating that gap between the cover and the lid. I double checked the fitment - all tabs are in place properly.
Second, my laptop won't close! The little latches on top do not come down and lock! I had to slam the lid shut for those latches to activate.
Definitely returning this item.

I carry tools (drill,screw drivers etc) and my laptop in this bag every weekday. It's handled very well over the past 3 months. No major signs of wear or tear. Has plenty of handles so you can easily grab it. It IS a very solid rolling backpack. I love it!
Warning! Heat makes this cover smell terrible!October 31, 2008 I ordered this based on all the good reviews here. The fit & quality of the hard plastic ("rubber"?) seemed fine when I put it on my Macbook Pro, but after about an hour (when the MBP started giving off heat), an unpleasant rubber smell started eminating from my laptop. I thought it was the newness of the product at first, but after another hour or so, the smell started taking on a toxic, TAR quality (almost like a newly paved street). After several days, I was so haunted by this awful smell, that I returned this product and bought an InCase brand one instead which has no toxic odors. You've been warned!
Sweet Cover!October 7, 2008 When i got this case i was really excited to put it on and get some use out of it. It's everything that the description says it is. It is a little bit loose but not enough to notice unless you were looking for it. It does a great job of protecting it and is really a great cover.
AwesomeOctober 1, 2008 Item got shipped quickly and I received it exactly on the day it was expected. The case is easy to attach, you just snap it on. It has a cool rubbery feel just like promised. Best thing is that the case does not restrict screen tilt like most others do.
