Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The X-540 speakers use FDD2 (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology to produce a uniform soundfield anywhere in the room. Immerse yourself in the game using the selectable matrix mode, which automatically creates 5.1 surround sound from common 2-channel stereo sources. The compact satellites are wall-mountable, and a special clip lets you place the center channel speaker on top of most flat-panel monitors to reduce desktop clutter. Use the wired control center to control volume and bass levels or connect headphones to enjoy your games and music privately.

5 out of 5 stars Logitech Speaker System   November 25, 2008
I replaced a failed Creative Labs system whcih was not cost effective to be repired (no longer supported). The product arrived as promised and performed well with my PC system. I did not need hundreds of watts of 5.1 sound. Base was good.

5 out of 5 stars Vast Improvement Over 2.1 Speakers   November 25, 2008
The setup was easy. These speakers sound excellent with my Creative Extreme Gamer Soundcard. The sound is crisp, clean, and clear. My office is small so the speaker wire length was no problem. These are a great improvement over my old 2.1 speakers and I am glad I purchased them. I just wish I would have went wireless for the rear speakers, but maybe later. I am considering getting a set for my TV.

4 out of 5 stars 5.1 Speakers get an 8-10   November 23, 2008
I like the sound quality for something so inexpensive, mostly needed something to make the computer loud enough to hear plus have the surround sound along with it.

The only setback is the control for the speakers (volume, bass, matrix?) is connected by a wire which makes it kind of annoying to increase and decrease volume.

4 out of 5 stars X-540 Review   November 11, 2008
This speaker system is pretty awesome. It sounds great - the sub wolfer is awesome, and the Matrix button disperses the sound through the 5speakers very well. I definitely wouldn't compare it to a good pair of Bose speakers but I definitely think it's clear enough (play w/ the EQ if needed) and worth the money - easily.

5 out of 5 stars Great Deal   November 1, 2008
This is a great system. Its loud (and clear too), has good base, the speakers are flexible, the wired volume switch is unexpectidly useful, and the "matrix" mode is a decent substitute if you only have 1 channel audio (i.e. plugging it into a laptop).

I used this system for my dorm room and it was awesome. It would probably work well in an office or bedroom. I don't think I would get it for a home theater.
