Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
a macbook under continuous demanding usage will become uncomfortably warm and the noise generated by the internal fans will become disruptively loud. without proper thermal management, your macbook may overheat to a point where it runs much slower or even locks up. as a subtle yet effective cooling solution, zefyr is designed to maintain your macbook's system stability even under peak loading conditions.at the core of zefyr's design is a high-thermal conduction interface compound, which enhances heat dissipation by providing a direct heat conduction path between macbook's bottom casing and zefyr's cast aluminum heat sink assembly. the thermal interface compound is soft and compressive to ensure decent contact while preventing abrasive scratches to your macbook. heat accumulated in the heat sink is then expelled through the sides by a high-efficiency usb-powered fan that runs near silent.zefyr is designed to strike a delicate balance between form and functionality. it is extremely portable and does not require the use of additional power adaptors. this allows you to utilize zefyr on the go without any hassle. when zefyr is put in place, you also gain the benefit of improved ergonomics through a slight tilt to the macbook. overall, zefyr is an unobtrusive thermal management solution that offers you a more comfortable computing experience.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars great little cooler!   November 3, 2008
My MacBook C2D 2.4 gets hot pretty quickly, and when it does, things slow down quite a bit, even DVD movie watching becomes unbearable. And since I take my MacBook everywhere I go, I've been looking for a cooler that is small enough to fit inside my backpack. When I saw the Moshi Zefyr on Engadget, I bought one immediately and have been using it for a little over a month now. So far I'm quite pleased with its overall performance, it does its job respectfully well - no more staggering DVD playbacks and lags due to overheating, and when closed, is small enough for me to carry it around with my MacBook. I use a full size desktop cooler at home so the Zefyr stays in my backpack all the time. Now on to the pros and cons:

Pros:
- made of whole aluminum block and feels solid, conducts heat much faster than plastic coolers.
- compact and slim enough to carry around.
- cools my c2d macbook enough for stable operation.

Cons:
- installation a bit tricky, takes awhile to get used to. (you may have to position it a bit towards the back for stable balance)
- the unit doesn't come with a carrying bag, there are several scratches already on my Zefyr.
