5 out of 5 stars Apple Keyboard   November 16, 2008
I've used other PC keyboards, including the semi-curved MS keyboard, and this Apple keyboard is the easiest, soft touch and tactile product I've used, yet. It's lightweight and, yet, has a very solid feel to it. Put it on your lap or on your desk, it's the best I've used.

4 out of 5 stars Much improved, but...   November 16, 2008
It took me several days to get used to the new keyboard from Apple, but I have to say that it's a pleasure to type on compared to the old clunker. Light, short throw keys have increased my typing speed and decreased necessary keystroke pressure. On the old keyboards, I felt like I had to punch them down, but this new design is effortless - so much so that for a couple days I was making all kinds of errors. But once I lightened up, speed and accuracy went way up, and finger fatigue went way down. Overall, a much improved experience.

There are only two drawbacks that I see - first is the caps lock key, which, because it's so easy to touch, takes a more deliberate tap to engage. I think it's intentionally not quite as sensitive as the rest of the keys - to prevent accidental SHOUTING - and that takes some getting used to. Secondly, I'm still not quite used to the re-arranged function keys - the volume, disk eject and iTunes control keys are in different spots, and I still have to look to see where they are when I use them - that'll solve itself in time, though. I don't miss the tilt feature at all - tilting the BACK of the keyboard UP was always a mistake, from a comfort point of view, so the lower profile, flatter layout is actually a big improvement.

The only thing I have to wait and see on is how durable this thing is, and how well it resists all my efforts to sandwich crumb and coffee drip it to death (the usual fate of my keyboards). And one sad note: where's the apple logo on the Command key? I hope they bring that back.

5 out of 5 stars The perfect keyboard (at least for me)   November 16, 2008
I really, really like this keyboard - it suits my typing style much better than Apple's old keyboard (I also liked my powerbook keyboard better, which is similar in travel depth and overall feel to the new one). Add to that the cool new look and you have what is to me the best keyboard I've used, hands down. Now, others who actually learned how to properly type on a traditional keyboard might not come to the same conclusion, so better go test at an Apple store before you order.

5 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard!!   November 12, 2008
I have a macbook pro, 15", and this totally improved my computing way of life.

I am a composer, and needed more room, plus the number pad, for use with Finale. After researching number pads that stand alone, I decided that a whole new keyboard was necessary. This keyboard is extremely low-profile, so it doesn't get in the way. The buttons are very smooth responding, and feel good in the hands. Very comfortable and quiet. And of course, no problems plugging in and going to town, like your computer had it attached the entire time.

This keyboard totally makes my pro feel like a desktop, which is great because I have the portability when I need it, and the comfort of a desktop for those long hours composing.

Thank you Apple!!!!

I wouldn't see it being any other way!!!

5 out of 5 stars Stylish, Solid, Responsive   November 11, 2008
I bought this keyboard to replace my old keyboard from my G5 keyboard. I can see how some people relate the feel to that of a laptop, the keys are alot like that of a laptop top... but because the are spaced apart much much further than that of a laptop it really makes up for it. I actually prefer this keyboard to both my G5 and logitech G11 gaming keyboard. The keys are sooooo much more responsive than my G5.

Pros.
- Sturdy metal construction
- Heavy for its size
- Responsive keys
- The Addition of new labels and new keys
- Very apple, Very Stylish

Cons.
- Keys are not raised enough
