Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
To deliver image-perfect detail and clarity, the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro webcam combines Logitech's premium autofocus technology with Carl Zeiss optics. The Logitech webcam uses a voice coil motor for its autofocus system, instead of a stepper motor. Focusing is fast and fluid - crisp even in extreme close-ups only 10 cm from the camera lens. Logitech's autofocus system compensates for changes in image-edge sharpness and refocuses images in less than three seconds. And through its exclusive collaboration with Carl Zeiss, Logitech ensures that the lens meets the world-renowned Zeiss standards for design and manufacturing to achieve superior sharpness in a compact, lightweight design. The 2-megapixel sensor helps the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro webcam capture video images in high resolution. It is assisted by Logitech's RightLight 2 technology, which enables the webcam to adjust intelligently in dim or harshly backlighted situations.

2 out of 5 stars Autofocus is hit and miss (mostly miss)   November 16, 2008
Bought this to hook up to my mac mini. The video quality is nowhere near the quality of the video from the built in webcam on my imac. The focus on this thing goes in and out, and everyone I talk to using Skype says the image looks blurry and pixelated. Maybe my room isn't bright enough, but it's just barely usable.

5 out of 5 stars Great replacement for iSight   November 10, 2008

If you have an older Mac, or as I do, a non-Apple flat-panel monitor, you'll need to supply your own camera if you intend to use video iChat. This camera is the perfect replacement for iSight. It works flawlessly and transparently under Leopard, (OS X 10.5) without a need for drivers; just plug it in, and all your Mac apps which use video recognize it immediately. Image quality is superb; great color fidelity, plus it focuses automatically, and adjusts exposure automatically for most lighting conditions. And best of all, it's a lot cheaper than the Apple iSight cams you'll see floating around on eBay!

4 out of 5 stars Great But   November 9, 2008
This camera works well--great image and clarity. Requires no software installation, however I wish there was software that worked to eliminate some of the glitches that occur when using with Photo Booth (having to reinsert the USB plug after starting Photo Booth and frequent crashes). I find it works very well with QuickTime Pro. Please fix the glitches with some kind of software. I am using an intel imac and a macbook.

5 out of 5 stars Great Cam! Just plug and play...   November 3, 2008
This is a great camera. It is a bit pricey as to what's outside in comparison to PC cameras, but it's the only camera that I found that worked on a mac and beautifully. Works with Skype and ichat. Anyone we talk to, is impressed with the image/video quality. It is very simple to use. Just plug it in and it works.

Just to notify, unless you have the ichat window open or skype is on, the light that notifies you of the video cam operation, doesn't light up. Still, it works. The light does go on, when ichat or skype window is on.

5 out of 5 stars Good Mac Web Cam   October 21, 2008

This Camera is no-software - easy to use (just plug in USB ) for Mac Tiger 10.4 or higher!

The no-software camera has automatic focus so sometimes you may have to shift this way or that to get "in shape" on the other end. But most of the time the image is sharp.

Please note that the camera will not work with older systems! (Tiger 10.4 +.... is needed!)

The camera is recognized by iChat and Skype, but it is not recognized by other 'Skype-like' programs such as OOVOO ..... The camera is simply not found/recognized by the chatting software (possibly because there is no software installed) .

From the all choices for older Macs (laptops) this is the better one, but not without some bugs.
I have had no problems with it so far, so I cant say anything about the customer service.

Over all I recommend it with caution.
