Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Fusing 12.3-megapixel image quality inherited from the award-winning D300 with groundbreaking features, the D90s breathtaking, low-noise image quality is further advanced with EXPEED image processing. Split-second shutter response and continuous shooting at up to 4.5 frames-per-second provide the power to capture fast action and precise moments perfectly, while Nikons exclusive Scene Recognition System contributes to faster 11-area autofocus performance, finer white balance detection and more. The D90 delivers the control passionate photographers demand, utilizing comprehensive exposure functions and the intelligence of 3D Color Matrix Metering II. Stunning results come to life on a 3-inch 920,000-dot color LCD monitor, providing accurate image review, Live View composition and brilliant playback of the D90s cinematic-quality 24-fps HD D-Movie mode.

5 out of 5 stars Nikon Created a giant killer!   January 8, 2009
I have recently purchased the new D90 from Nikon and can honestly say this new camera is one of the best I have ever used. I was looking originally to upgrade my Nikon D200 to the new Nikon D300 and stumbled upon the new D90. I currently have a Nikon D200, D70s, D40x and a whole bunch of Nikon Glass and Flashes, all of which are completely interchangeable with this new camera! I must say that I feel that Nikon has created a giant killer (the competition, especially for Canon). When you pick the unit up you will experience a well thought out and engineered product (you should always go to a brick and mortar store to try out a camera first for proper fit in hands, feel, aesthetics, etc.). Some people have complained that the D90 is too small for their hands. I am a really big guy who has big hands and though the unit is small in my hands, it is still comfortable to use and does not feel like a plastic throw-a-way like the Canons. I have added the MB-D80 Hand Grip to the D90 for additional surface area and better controls (plus additional battery capacity) and the unit feels just as good as my larger D200 which also has the MB-D200 Hand Grip for similar reasons.

Regarding the D90's exceptional features, you will not go wrong here. The camera can serve both as a new bee unit for someone starting out or for a pro/enthusiast like myself with extremely fast shutter speeds, good 11 point focus area, and the real killer is the 720P HD Video capture capability...pure cream! I am sure glad I did not spend the extra money on the D300 as the reviews of the D90 are just as good as if not better than the D300...all for a camera costing a good $900.00 less!

All-in-all, a very good investment here for anyone wanting a very excellent, fast, and fun DSLR!

5 out of 5 stars awesome camera   January 7, 2009
This camera does it all- pictures that are so crisp you will think you are seeing it live and then you can video it all too! My husband always loved his Nikon 35mm and wasn't adjusting to the digital world until now. kudos!!!!

4 out of 5 stars great camera, found 2 dead pixels   January 6, 2009
It's a great camera, i don't complain, great built and it feels good in your hand. Image quality it's what i expected. the kit lenses are flexible and sharp, not complains at all... but i recently founded 2 dead pixels in every picture, and i read that it's a normal thing in this body, not very happy with that.

5 out of 5 stars Wow! Never, never buy a point and shoot again...   January 4, 2009
Fanboy:
I know the price is more then a point and shoot - but you get what you pay for. Having owned a digital camera since 1999, and those all bring little point and shoot clicker - I have accumulated around 7000 digital pictures before I bought this camera in Nov 09. I now have around 10000! In 3 months I have almost taken half the amount that I took in 9 years!

Good:
The image quality is outstanding. The camera body is hefty enough to feel strong buy not to heavy to use for long periods of time. Built in flash works like a champ. Battery lasts FOREVER - I think we charge weekly and shoot pictures almost everyday!

Bad(If you could call it that):
Lens is a built to "multitasking" - Does a bunch of things good - Not 1 thing great.
Steep - steep learning curve if you want to learn and use every feature.
Camera sometime freezes causing a battery removal. This happens few and far between.

I couldn't recommend this more.

1 out of 5 stars Fake Advertisement   January 3, 2009

Two day after after receiving a notice that my order had been shipped from Hobby Warehouse 1, I received an email: "We have cancelled your Amazon.com order because the seller informed us that it was placed against an unauthorized listing."
The refund was delayed to my next month billing period on my credit card. How can they take my money and 2 days later tell me the ad was fake? I am sure the D90 is a great camera, but I did not receive one from my order on Amazon.
