Product Description "The International Magazine of Events," or Time, is considered America's first weekly news periodical, founded in 1923. It covers a wide range of subject matter from politics to the entertainment industry. Since the magazine's inception, Time has been known for its annual "Person of the Year" issue. It is oftentimes controversial, counting Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin among it previous recipients, recognizing the individual or group that has had the most impact on the world stage.
The Kindle Edition of Time contains most articles found in the print edition, but will not include all images. For your convenience, issues are auto-delivered wirelessly to your Kindle at the same time the print edition hits the newsstand.
The missing illustrations aren't quite the problemJuly 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, I mean, yes they are, if that's the sort of thing you like. What creates a problem for me with regard to the artwork is that there are numerous times where the text will refer to an illustration or chart that isn't there. That's the part that bugs me, because the effort to digitize the whole magazine for the Kindle overlooks the fact that once in awhile you may NEED the accompanying artwork. Tables, for instance, are converted to text and are basically unreadable unless you really want to study them.
Time also has a quick overview of events (it's called "Pop Chart") of the week which are laid out on a scale from "Shocking" to "Shockingly Predictable". We get this scale as a list, so we don't really get the feel for the scale itself.
But graphics aside, you do get the entire magazine and a good depth of coverage on some of the bigger issues that you wouldn't get in a daily newspaper.
Democratic RagMay 14, 2008 1 out of 14 found this review helpful
There's nothing wrong with being a news magazine with an agenda to forward the Democratic Party as long as you 'fess up to it. What is wrong is purporting to report the news with no bias when nothing can be farthur from the truth.

Love Live Prada! Oops. I meant Time Magazine.
Terrible Format but ConvenientMay 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pretty much all has been said. The content, which is the most important aspect is the same as the print edition - I.e. enjoyable and interesting. But it's incomplete without the pictures and charts, and absolutely terrible formatting spoil the experience. That said, for $1.49 what do you expect? So, I've kept the print edition, but at this price I've also kept the Kindle edition for convenience. If Time wish to charge more, they'd better get their act together with the formatting though. Let's hope enough interest is generated in Kindle to make it worth their while.
No Ads!February 21, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
i don't normally use caps or exclamation marks, but thought i should, to slam dance with the "No Pictures!" review.
the Kindle Time magazine is organized so you can go to sections & then articles, or just page straight through it, all the while encountering no ads. this is wonderful.
on some articles, the formatting is confusing. the line spacing sometimes implies that a line of information is tied to that above when it is tied to that below - & vice versa.
i like getting my news on a weekly basis - after they've ironed out most of the wrinkles. was subscribing to Newsweek, but am now a confirmed Kindle person sooooo... bye bye Newsweek. i continue to subscribe to the best weekly news - The Week - tried unsuccessfully so far to persuade them to go Kindle, but can't give them up. oh well, i have to use all those reading glasses i bought pre-Kindle for something.
BTW if you want pictures, buy People magazine - like a normal person. that's a bit harsh. sorry, i just like the movie line "take a Valium, like a normal person". let's face it, i love pictures imbedded in text too, but i can't help but enjoy the efficiency of straight gulping informative text.
Kindle Time magazine is NOT the paper versionFebruary 19, 2008 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
I always appreciate the reviews from others that Amazon provides. I think that like most people we tend to look at the extremes in view when in fact, like most things, the quality of a given thing is usually somewhere in the middle. No, this Kindle edition is not the paper edition with colorful pictures, advertising and needless fluff. Another reviewer found fault with Time magazine in general and decided to voice those complaints against this Kindle edition. If you don't like Time magazine then by all means don't read it, but don't take it out on the Kindle edition when in fact you don't like Time magazine at all. It is what it is, and I think we all pretty much know what it is, a well established franchise like McDonalds or Burger King, it tastes the same everywhere; and if you are happy with a convenient, portable electronic edition of Time magazine which can be read on the go, then you'll be happy with this.
