Great Value for TiVo HDSeptember 7, 2008 As more and more content has become HD, my TiVo HD started to fill up quickly and I would sometimes have shows deleted before I had a chance to watch them. Now, I have plenty of room for everything of interest, as well as TiVo suggestions.
The Expander was very simple to install and has worked flawlessly. It was a small price to pay to get 4X the capacity.
Dead simpleSeptember 7, 2008 Got a new HD set and Tivo HD just before the Olympics. Realized that only 20 hours of HD would not catch all the action. For just a few bucks, I was able to get up to 80+ hours of HD and more SD TV than anyone could ever watch. I hate having to manage space on the Tivo, and with this device, you don't have to.
Installation was dead simple. Follow the instructions, plug things in in the right order and is just works. Once installed, you can't remove it without losing all your recordings, but that is a fair compromise.
Endless amount of space nowSeptember 6, 2008 At least so far it seems like endless space. The price was so low ($131.99) I couldn't resist buying the expander and I am so happy that I did. Before I was constantly running out of space and was transferring shows to my computer for storage. Set up was easy though I did have to do it twice for the TiVo to recognize the expander. The only problem I am having is that some recordings are pixilated but that might be the cable transmission.

TiVo Added MemorySeptember 6, 2008 I purchased a TiVo HD box and wanted to be able to store more than 20 hours of HD programming. I found the Western Digital WDG1S5000VN 500GB My DVR Expander eSATA and ordered it in August 2008. The Western Digital 500GB was easy to install and has been working great.
