Product Description
The Laptop Lunch Bento set comes with removable inner containers that can accommodate a variety of food sizes. The tray-like feel makes lunch exciting for kids. The sealable lid prevents wet foods from leaking onto other foods. The dip container for sauces, salad dressings, and dips makes eating vegetables fun. The single unit design eliminates the mess of jumbled containers, and the stainless steel fork and spoon come with stylish plastic handles. # Convenient size fits in backpacks and most lunchboxes. # Durable plastic containers (not lids) are microwave safe. # Containers and lids are dishwasher safe--top rack only. Dimensions length = 9 inches width = 7 inches height = 2 inches length of utensils = 6 1/2 inches larger inner containers = 4.5 x 3 x 1.75 inches smaller inner containers = 3 x 2 x 1.75 inches dip container = 1.5 x 1 x 1.5 inches Volume large inner containers = 1 cup small inner containers = 1/2 cup dip container = 1/8 cup

4 out of 5 stars Great Idea needs improvement   October 28, 2008

I do love the concept of this lunchbox. Better food and less waste. Looking at our school menu I opt not to let my child buy school lunches. We have been using the lunchboxes for over 2 years now. I have not calculated the savings we have not using other form of packaging for lunch. My kids love them and other kids want them. I love all the new colors. The inner containers do not show any signs of wear so far. However, the spoon and forks handles broke off fairly quickly. But they are easy to replace.

Overall cost for this lunchbox with the carry case is about $0.11 cents per day. Less if I keep using it. Still a good deal if you use the lunchbox every day.

What I would like to see improve is the quality of the water bottle. It leaked from the get go. The case also broke but is still usable. Having just one lid limits what I can put in the lunch box. I agree with others for this price there should be more lids for the set.It would be nice if it was just a little higher so a sandwich can be sliced in half and still fit. Right now to make it fit I have to cut it smaller.

I love the laptop lunchbox! And I am saving so much on plastic bags!

2 out of 5 stars Lid came off   September 16, 2008

The reviewer who expresses concerns about the quality of the lid is right: It is not very sturdy. I love the layout of this lunch box, and so does my daughter: It makes her lunches look very appealing. But the lid is attached to the box in such a way that it won't last. It finally just broke off -- very disappointing. I don't mind paying so much for an item that you use every day but, at this price, I would expect higher quality.

2 out of 5 stars Have to agree. Overpriced for what it is.   September 10, 2008

I like the general lay-out of the product but find the outer case to be cheap and hard to open for smaller kids. It tends to pop open if any of the inner boxes are overfilled. Not enough clearance. Only one of the two larger inner boxes has a lid which is part of the problem. I think at this price ALL of the little boxes should have come with a lid. That way the outer box would absolutely close. I think for this amount of money the set should have come with a case but if you look, the ones with a case and a cheap water bottle are going for $74.99. Now that is a brazen mark-up. The best thing about these sets is that they eliminate the need for zip-lock baggies or foil and that is a very worthwhile advantage. My kid does like her lunches from this kit. It may be cheaper to go to a Chinatown and buy a traditional bento lunch kit.

3 out of 5 stars Lid looks like it will break off easily   September 6, 2008

I bought my dd one of these as she loves Bento boxes. The inside containers are a nice sturdy plastic and it comes with a little fork and spoon. It is a very cute set (a user's guide book comes with it) and it looks like fun. For the price I paid - I would have hoped the quality of the actual lunch box would have been better. The lid is attached at the back of the box with a thin piece of plastic and looks like after not too long - it is going to break. It could end up being a sturdy container - but as I just got it and haven't used it yet - I don't know. I'd say though with daily use that part it going to wear out pretty fast.

The container is pretty small - sufficient for a young child's lunch, but for a growing teen boy or an adult - I don't think it will be big enough.
