There will always be agruments about whether Monster cables are worth the money, and I think a lot of it depends on your personal situation. I'd suggest going for the cheapo Radio Shack cables first, and only upgrade if the perfomance is not satisfactory. You'll save money more often than not.
I bought this set to install in my car for a trunk mounted MP3 adapter, so I needed extra length and suspected that noise immunity would be needed as well. They work fine, and I have no complaints, but I do want to point out that they are very bulky. The molded base of the 3.5mm jack is almost as big as my MP3 player, and the cable is like a garden hose!
Monster Cable JM REPC M HP-20 Computer to Stereo CableDecember 6, 2007 When I brought this cable I was a bit concern if it would work. I was afraid that my iTunes, and other music would sound like it was streaming from a computer. After hooking this cable up, I was thrill with the clarity and response of everything that was played. There isn't any reason to go out and spend a lot of money trying to hook up your system. I've done a great deal of reading and comparisons on this subject. I must say the stereo I hooked this cable up to is at the top of the line. I do not think anyone will have a problem with this cable even at the low end spectrum. I gave this cable a five star. The cable is heavy, and is 20 ft long. This cable is strong without cliches in the connection. I am so glad I did not pay a couple of hundred to get the same thing. This cable isn't cheap, but definitely worth the higher price.
When you need the lengthNovember 27, 2007 I had been using a shorter connector with a stereo mini pin extender to get my computer to interface with my stereo across the room and was never satisfied with the sound. No matter how I attempted to shield the cables, there was a constant annoying hum. With this new cable, the sound is clean and the dynamics of the music are clearly expressed. I love the improvement!
Good cable - a bit bulkySeptember 21, 2007 This cable is a good one. Obviously you are paying extra for the Monster Cable brand, but the quality is good. I installed the cable in one of our boardrooms and so far it has performed very well. The only negative is that the cable is very bulky, including the mini-connector. It may be too big for some space restricted uses.
